YORBA LINDA, Calif. (Jan. 23, 2019) — Flav-R-Pac will join Monster Energy as a primary sponsor of Brittany Force’s Top Fuel dragster in the 2020 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing season. Flav-R-Pac is an industry leader in packaged frozen fruits and vegetables and is a recognized brand of PNW VEG CO., LLC DBA NORPAC, a subsidiary of Oregon Potato Company (OPC) which is owned by Frank Tiegs. Tiegs, also the owner of the Montana Brand Tools / Rocky Mountain Twist brands that sponsor Austin Prock’s dragster, will have top billing for 10 races of the upcoming season.
“Expanding our relationship with Frank Tiegs was a goal. He’s a great partner, I enjoy working with him and having Don Prudhomme, The Snake, a legend, in the mix is exciting too. They both love this sport and see the value in investing in us. Tiegs owns companies he knows we can help promote and having new sponsors introduced in the sport is what we, and the whole NHRA, needs,” said John Force, team namesake and CEO. “We were working hard over past several weeks to get this to work. It’s going to be a great season and we’re looking forward to having Tiegs around a lot more.”
“Partnering with John Force Racing in 2019 was a great decision. Austin winning the Auto Club Road to the Future Award and getting his first win, it was an exciting season. Having another dog in the race with Brittany is just going to make 2020 all the more worthwhile. Looking forward to the future and what we can do with John Force Racing,” commented Frank Tiegs.
The Flav-R-Pac Top Fuel dragster will make its debut at the NHRA Arizona Nationals, February 21-23 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports park just outside of Phoenix. Flav-R-Pac will have branding on all four John Force Racing hot rods for the entirety of the 2020 NHRA season.
NORPAC has been farmer-owned cooperative of family farms representing over 200 growers on more than 40,000 acres of land in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. NORPAC has continuously worked to improve farming and food processing practices since its inception in 1924. NORPAC products have always been fresh and of the highest quality because they are harvested and processed locally, so that fruits and vegetables can be picked and packed in less than four hours. We have found that the benefits for locally produced crops show in more than just the quality of our products – local farms and processing plants keep our environmental footprint small, too. Our farmers formed the NORPAC Stewardship Task Force in 2002 to put even more environmental and efficiency programs in place. The task force’s purpose is to define and communicate NORPAC’s collective commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and establish a process of third-party certification of stewardship practices. PNW VEG CO., LLC acquired NORPAC’s business on December 18, 2019.
