NHRA CAROLINA NATIONALS ELIMINATIONS POSTPONED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 13, 2019) — Eliminations at the NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals were postponed due to inclement weather Sunday at zMAX Dragway just outside of Charlotte. The four John Force Racing teams, Robert Hight and John Force who are qualified No. 2 and No. 5, respectively in Funny Car and Brittany Force and Austin Prock, who are qualified No. 3 and No. 13 in Top Fuel, will return Monday morning at 10 a.m. to contest the Carolina Nationals.

Robert Hight will be chasing his fourth win at the Carolina Nationals and fifth at the facility when he and the Automobile Club of Southern California Chevrolet Camaro SS team face Mike McIntire Jr. in round one. Sitting first in the Funny Car points standings Hight is looking to win his sixth Wally of the season.

Sixteen-time Funny Car world champion John Force and the PEAK Coolant and Motor Oil / BlueDEF Chevrolet Camaro SS team are sitting second behind Hight in the points standings and will be racing for his third win of the season and at zMAX Dragway. Force will take on reigning world champion J.R. Todd as he chases career win 152.

Brittany Force and the Advance Auto Parts team made an impressive performance improvement on Saturday while qualifying for the Carolina Nationals, jumping all the way from ninth to third. Force, now fourth in points, will be contending for her second win of the season as she chases her second world championship. First in line for race day is Smax Smith.

Rookie Austin Prock and the Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist team will be eager to start eliminations at the Carolina Nationals when they line up with Richie Crampton from the No. 13 qualifying position. Prock, who has one win in 2019, is still in contention for the championship as he enters race day sitting ninth in the points standings.
