AUSTIN PROCK AND MONTANA BRAND / RMT READY TO ADD TO JOHN FORCE RACING SUCCESS AT HOUSTON RACEWAY PARK

BAYTOWN, Texas (April 21, 2022) – Austin Prock knows what victory at Houston Raceway Park feels like as a member of a crew but the young Top Fuel standout is hoping to get a taste as a driver with his Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist team at this weekend’s NHRA SpringNationals, the fifth event on the Camping World Drag Racing Series schedule and last national event at Houston Raceway Park.

Prock’s second appearance as a Top Fuel pilot at Houston Raceway Park will be the last since the land on which the track sits has been sold for commercial development. He was the No. 7 qualifier at Houston in 2019, beating Jordan Vandergriff before falling short in the second round to Steve Torrence.

“I’m really looking forward to Houston, John Force Racing has had a lot of success and made history at this facility. I’d love to add my name to that list, especially with it being the final one,” Prock said. “I’ve got two wins as a crew guy at Houston Raceway Park, including my first ever in 2018 when I worked on Brittany Force’s dragster and the second, in 2021, was my first win with my dad on Robert Hight’s team, so it’s got a special place in my heart. I’m excited to get back in the seat, I feel like we’re on the right track to perform with the best. I can’t wait to see how our cards fall.”

Prock kicked off his return to the seat of the Montana Brand/Rocky Mountain Twist dragster with a final round appearance at the season-opening Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, Calif. He comes into this week’s race having made a jump from ninth to sixth in points after racing to the second quad at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The NHRA SpringNationals at Houston Raceway Park kickoff Friday night with the first round of qualifying at 7 p.m. CT. Qualifying continues with sessions at 2 and 5:15 p.m. CT. Eliminations are scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m. Television coverage will be on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) beginning Friday night at 7 p.m. ET. A second qualifying show will air Sunday at 10:30 a.m. before eliminations at 7:30 p.m. ET.
