JOHN FORCE AND PEAK CHEVY ON AN UPSWING HEADING TO NHRA MIDWEST NATIONALS

MADISON, Ill. (Sept. 29, 2022) – After finding success last weekend, John Force and the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet Camaro SS team remain fourth in the Camping World Drag Racing Series points heading into the NHRA Midwest Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway. They are looking to carry over their momentum and improve their position at the halfway marker of the NHRA Countdown to the Championship.

Force and the PEAK Camaro have kept themselves in the championship conversation thanks to three final round appearances that included a win at the Charlotte Four-Wide event, eight semifinal appearances and two No. 1 qualifiers that both came at zMAX Dragway in North Carolina. Force is currently on a three-race streak of reaching the semis.

“These PEAK boys, Danny Hood and Tim Fabrisi leading them, they’ve been working hard. They’ve put in the work and figured some things out. It’s starting to show. We’re keeping ourselves in the game and right now that’s what matters,” Force said. “At about the halfway point for this Countdown heading into St. Louis and we need to take advantage of how well we’re performing. We have to get the job done on race day and we’ll get there, it’ll happen.”

Force has won three times at St. Louis (1999, 2002, 2013) and is due for another victory after not reaching the final at World Wide Technology Raceway in his last seven starts at the facility. In 2021, as the No. 10 qualifier, he advanced to the semifinals. Force has also been the No. 1 qualifier at the Midwest Nationals in 2010, 2014 and 2019.

Competition at the NHRA Midwest Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway begins with qualifying Friday at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday at 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. with eliminations at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Television coverage of the event will be on Sunday with a qualifying show at 12:30 p.m. ET immediately followed by eliminations coverage at 2 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1 (FS1).
