CONCORD, N.C. (April 26, 2023) – After four events out of 21 in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season, two-time and defending world champion Brittany Force and the Flav-R-Pac / Monster Energy team enter this weekend’s Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway just outside of Charlotte sitting third in the points standings.
Force is the only John Force Racing driver to have won four-wide events on both coasts. She won the Circle K Four-Wide at zMAX in 2016 and the NHRA Four-Wide at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2022. In addition to her 2016 win, she was runner-up at Charlotte to Steve Torrence in the 2021 Four-Wide. The current track record holder for time (3.662 seconds on May 14, 2021) and speed (336.91 mph on Sept. 24, 2022), she was No. 1 at the Four-Wide in 2018 and 2021.
“Heading to Charlotte, North Carolina next on the NHRA circuit. zMAX Dragway is another familiar track for this Flav-R-Pac / Monster Energy team. We’ve won in the past, 2016, and have a runner-up finish in 2021. We also hold both ends of the track record,” Force said. “We come into the event third in points which is a solid position. With all the changes we’ve made we are getting back on track and looking for the first win of the season.”
Force earned her second No. 1 of the season, 44th of her career at the first of the NHRA Four-Wide events in Las Vegas before racing her way to the final quad for a semifinal finish. The result is proof that the David Grubnic-tuned Flav-R-Pac machine is coming around quicker than expected after changes in the off-season.
