Quote from Jack Beckman, PEAK Chevrolet SS Funny Car:
“Relative to the conditions, that pass (Q3) was probably one of the best runs of the year. We weren’t pushing to run an .86. We got everything there was out there — maybe a little bit more. The racing gods gave us a hundredth in Q3. We’ve got a car that’s basically good enough to win all the time. It’s just about eliminating that small stuff — that hundredth of a second, that five-thousandth of a second that can eat you alive. Every qualifying run matters. We’ve got to keep doing stuff like that.”
Quote from Alexis DeJoria, Bandero Café Chevrolet SS Funny Car:
“Today was another great showing for the Bandero Café Chevrolet team. We ended up qualifying second just like last weekend at Rockingham. I’m so excited about our chances tomorrow. The Bandero Café Chevy’s just running so good and the team is doing so well. We’re consistent and fast, and all the qualifying points we earned the past two days matter, especially during the Countdown. You want to be hot during the Countdown and we are.”
Quote from Josh Hart, Speedmaster Top Fuel Dragster:
“I’m very proud of this Speedmaster team. I know Grubby (crew chief Dave Grubnic) has changed a lot of things to make the car more predictable. For a driver, that builds a lot of confidence and I think tomorrow, with that momentum, we’ll be just fine. The driver has to do his job and I will do the best I can.”
Quote from Jordan Vandergriff, Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS Funny Car:
“That last run today was straight and clean and then I saw a flash of fire and it shot right. We put down a good run in Q3 and really had good numbers in Q4, too. I think Sunday better look out for us.”
