BROWNSBURG, Ind (Aug. 27, 2025) – Jack Beckman and his John Force Racing PEAK SQUAD head into the Aug. 27-Sept. 1 Cornwell Quality Tools U.S. Nationals with handfuls of prior success at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, a full head of steam heading into the final race of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing regular season, and a deep respect for the racing legends, pro and sportsmen, who paved the way for him and the rest of today’s competitors.

Notes

  • Beckman has earned two U.S. Nationals Funny Car titles, in 2015 and 2020
  • Fast Jack has earned four Funny Car all-star races during the Cornwell Quality Parts U.S. Nationals (2007, 2013, 2015, 2017) with a perfect event record of 12-0.
  • The 2012 NHRA Funny Car Champion and 2003 NHRA Super Comp Champion has also earned three Funny Car runner-up finishes at the U.S. Nationals (2008, 2013, 2019)
  • The Daniel Hood/Chris Cunningham/Tim Fabrisi-led team sits second in the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Funny Car point standings leading into the final race of the regular season; he is 242 behind John Force Racing teammate Austin Prock, 27 ahead of Matt Hagan in third, 58 ahead of Ron Capps in fourth and 131 ahead of Paul Lee in fifth.
  • Fast Jack currently sits at 499 Funny Car round wins (503 total round wins including four in Top Fuel). He’s one of only 26 Pro drivers to accomplish the mark across the four Pro categories. John Force leads with 1,460 Pro round wins, all in Funny Car.
  • The Granada Hills, Calif., native is three-for-four this season in the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge, with overall wins at Pomona, New Hampshire and Brainerd, with a runner-up finish at Bristol. He will compete in this weekend’s event after his No. 1 Qualifier effort two weeks ago at Brainerd.
  • JFR drivers have won 15 times at Indy — 14 times in Funny Car and once in Top Alcohol Dragster (Ashley in 2004).  In 1993 and 1996, John won both the US Nationals and the Funny Car bonus race (at the time, the Big Bud Shootout).  In 2004, Gary Densham, won both the U.S. Nationals and the Skoal Showdown driving a JFR Funny Car with Jimmy Prock as crew chief.
  • Cornwell Tools has gotten creative in their support of Task Force Rahal (TFR).
  • They will donate $350 for each 84” Platinum Series and 79” ARCA Series toolbox they sell during their 6-week Veteran’s Day promotion (10/23-12/7)
  • They have donated one of these 84” Platinum Series boxes in a patriotic theme to Task Force Rahal ($17k value)
    • Donating to Task Force Rahal is still the goal.  Beginning with this event, every donation of at least $100 will be entered to win the Cornwell Tools toolbox.  TFR will select a winner during our final race of the season in Pomona.

Quotes

Talk about the importance to you and the PEAK SQUAD to have moved into second place in the point standings leading into the U.S. Nationals?

“Well, unless we can somehow find a way for Prock to give away 200 points, nobody’s going to catch Austin for the regular season title. They have a 13-round lead they’re going to give away when the points reset but thank goodness if you’re anybody but them because we could only barely see their rear bumper. But after Indy, we’re going to be right on that rear bumper.

Indy is the only race now with this Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge where somebody could literally triple up on a scheduled weekend. We’ve got a Saturday race within a race with Mission deal. We’ve got a Sunday race with a race with this All-Star Funny Car Call-out. And then we’ve got U.S. Nationals eliminations. In 2015, I doubled up at Indy, winning the shootout on Sunday and it was a huge deal. That’s a really big deal to stand there with that huge trophy with your crew in the winner’s circle. But, unlike any other race when you win and go back to the hotel to get a night sleep, you get up early Monday morning and you’re back out there for an even bigger race. There’s no extra incentive needed for Indy.”

What are your thoughts on the Funny Car Call-Out?

“I have never done one where it’s a callout format and I think it’s neat. I think it has extra layer for the fans. Yes, it’s different than our other races but so is a four-wide and so is a lot of the bonus points of the countdown and things like that I’m glad that we’ve given the fans.”

Tell us about all the NHRA drag racing heroes that will be out for the Cornwell Quality Tools U.S. Nationals.

On the left side of the racetrack is where they do all the legends stuff. All the nostalgic cars are out there and I’ve spent hours and hours there, hanging out with George Montgomery and Bob Glidden and the people that really built the sport and we’re resting on their shoulders today. The fact that, 40 years after their heyday, many of them thought enough of the event to come out there, George Montgomery was the first two-time nationals winner before it was ever called the US nationals and he won it before everything moved to Indy. That should tell you how much the U.S. Nationals means to the racers.
