AUSTIN PROCK AND MONTANA BRAND / RMT ENDING 2022 SEASON ON A POSITIVE NOTE AT AUTO CLUB NHRA FINALS

POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 09, 2022) – Austin Prock and the Montanan Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist Chevrolet dragster team enter the Auto Club NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway looking to close out there second full-time season on a high note and hopefully do their part to help John Force Racing win a championship.

After struggling in mid-season, Prock, the 2019 NHRA Rookie of the Year, turned his season around in the Countdown, driving his Montana Brand/Rocky Mountain Twist entry to a compelling victory at Reading, Pa., on Sept. 18, to a runner-up finish on Oct. 16 at Dallas, Texas and to the semifinals in the most recent event in the Countdown, the Nevada Nationals at Las Vegas.

“I’m looking forward to finishing out the season strong with my Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist team. With another good weekend I think we can move up even more in the points standings, Prock said. “As a team, John Force Racing has two shots at championships and I’m going to do my best as a teammate to try and make that happen. I’m sad that the 2022 season is already coming to an end, but really excited to see how it all ends up.”

Prock is making just his fifth career start at Auto Club Raceway (his second in the Auto Club Finals), he has a pair of runner-up finishes to his credit, both of them in the season-opening Winternationals in which he lost to Doug Kalitta in the 2020 final and to Justin Ashley last February at the wheel of the Montana Brand/Rocky Mountain Twist dragster prepared by veteran crew chiefs Joe Barlam and Rahn Tobler.

The Auto Club NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona will begin with four rounds of qualifying including two on Friday at 1 and 4:15 p.m. and two Saturday at 12:30 and 4 p.m. Eliminations, where champions will be crowned, are slated to begin Sunday at 11 a.m. Television coverage of the event begins Sunday with qualifying coverage Sunday at 1 p.m. ET and eliminations airing in a tape delay at 4 p.m. ET and a special NHRA Post Show at 7 p.m. ET all on FOX Sports 1 (FS1).
